Sunday Morning Tidbits for 12/07/25 Pastor Dr. Richelle C. Melvin Scripture: 1 Kings 18:21 Topic:”Today’s Choice!”

“And Elijah came near all the people and said, “ How long will you go limping between two different opinions. If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him.” And the people did not answer him a word.

How long will you be between two opinions? How long will you be hot or cold? Everyday we have to make a choice.

Deut. 30:15-20 tells us that the commandments are not mysterious or far off tha you don’t understand. Choose life or death ; blessings or curses. Choose life! You can’t just play with it.   You can’t walk around acting like today I will be saved or tomorrow I won’t because in the twinkling of an eye, Jesus will be back!

Everyday we have to make a choice when we get out of the bed. We have to choose for God I live and for God I die.

You have to think about more than yourself or at that moment. Think about your descendants who will reap the benefits.

There are generational curses when you don’t want to cut off your sins at the root of the problems because you don’t want to let it go right now?

What we do today has an effect on you or your children tomorrow.

The road leads to two choices: the road of blessings or the road to horrible consequences.

Matthew 6:24 tells us to hate one or love the other- you can’t serve two masters.

There will come a day hen serving God or serving yourself will be a conflict.

You have to be able to step out on faith and serve God only!

Will you love God and be true to Him or will oh be true to yourself?  You must line yourself to God’s will!

God is not the author of confusion! 1 Corin. 14:33

When you straddle the fence; you promote confusion in your life. Where envy and strife is there is confusion in every evil work.

The peace of God is trusting in Him in all things!

James 3:13-18

The fruits of righteousness is sown in peace to them that makes peace- James 3:18

Never try to measure up to anybody else. Be who God called you to be! God is not confused, He knows who he calls you to be.

Rev. 3:15 - You are either hot or cold because lukewarm, God will spit you out of his mouth. There is nothing worst them a lukewarm Christian. Such Christians are useless.

We must stop playing games in being lukewarm. Will it be God or not.

Don’t become lukewarm in your speech, your actions, in your response and how you talk to people.

Tell yourself I am the head and not the tail! I am royalty! I am a peculiar people! Choose life!

Judges 10:6-10 tells about the Children of Israel and how they were oppressed for 18 years. The people cried out to the Lord, saying, “We have sinned against you! After all they done, God allowed them to see what it was over there.

God already delivered them out of bondage! God told them to cry out to the gods that they chose and let them deliver them!

Scripture shows that the children had enough sense to not double down and they decided to worship God.

How many can say God if you don’t do another thing for me I will continue to walk the way that you want me to walk. I will choose you! I will do what you called me to do!

Idolatry = Bondage!

Anything (idols) that you have to put before God is bondage!

Verse 16- We get a beautiful glimpse of God’s heart. Gods heart went out to them when they turned to worship God.

God wants to protect you! He wants to be your all and all! God wants to be what you need him to be!

Choose today to follow Christ!

James 1:22 tells us to be doers of the word and not hearers deceiving your own selves!

Today’s Choice!
