OUR BELIEFS

Remaining true to that spirit, our church believes…

  • That Jesus Christ suffered and died to redeem man from sin and reconcile man back to God.  (Romans 5:10; Hebrews 5:1-10).

  • That the Holy Ghost is a gift, bestowed upon the believer to equip and empower the believer, making him a more effective witness for service in this world.  He (the Holy Ghost)  will teach and guide in all truth.  (John 16:13; Acts 1:8; 8:39).

  • In the sanctifying power of the Holy Ghost by whose indwelling the believer can live a holy life.

  • Miracles do and will occur today where God is preached, faith in Christ is exercised, the Holy Ghost is active and the gospel goes forth in truth.  (Acts 5:12; 6:8; 9:40; Luke 4:36; Mark 14:15; Luke 5:5-6).

  • That the shedding of human blood or the taking of human life is contrary to the teachings of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and as a body, and although sometimes necessary we are averse to war in all of its forms.  (Matthew 5:9; 11:12; 5:21-22; Exodus 20:13).

  • In water baptism by immersion symbolizes regeneration and purification.  (Colossians 2:12; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3; I Corinthians 2:13; Gelatins 3:27).

  • The sacrament of Feet Washing is an ordinance of the church that demonstrates humility and characterizes greatness in the Kingdom of God.  (Luke 7:36-50; John 13:17; I Timothy 5:10).

Scripture

Statement of Faith

Bible:  We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God.

Rapture:  We believe in the blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ, at His return.

Regeneration:  We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit:  We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it.

Trinity:  We believe that there is only One God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Salvation:   We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious Blood of Jesus Christ.

The Cross:    We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer.

Sanctification:  We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in the present world.
