Topic:” The Heart of A Giver!”
Scripture: Matthew 6:19-21
This month starts a season of gratitude and giving. Giving is more than a financial transaction; it is a reflection of where your heart lies.
Acts 20:35 says that it is more blessed to give than to receive.
We should give because God himself was a giver. Giving Is a transferring of a thing to someone or something else; meaning carrying out or performing; and providing love or support in a time of generosity to God.
Hebrews 13:16 tells us to not neglect to do good and to share what you have, fr such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”
I. Why Give?
He. 13:16-It pleases God!
Phil. 4:15-16- to make an impact! Giving fuels the work of the church and impacts the lives of others and in the work and in the ministry.
I Cor. 13:3-to demonstrate love which is proven through our actions. II Cor. 8:8- To show love.
Proverbs 28:22; I Tim. 6:17-19- Poverty does not come upon you. Giving stores up a foundation for you for eternal life. It helps us keep our focus off of material possessions and more on God. Your giving will never out-Give God!
II. How to give?
II Cor. 9:6-11 (law of reaping and sowing). It challenges you to not think about what you have going on but what someone else may need while you are giving. Be more intentional about your giving and give and purpose your giving from the heart.
God loves a cheerful giver!
God supplies and multiplies your seed sown and increases the first fruit of your righteousness.
Give willingly and rejoice-fully; give constantly and sacrificially; and give intentionally and purposely.
2 Corin. 8:2 says give because you have it to give. If you see it needs to be done; give it your time or finances to do it. Give intentionally! God will provide the overflow.
Giving is a lifestyle of consistent act of faith that signs as a credit with God! Giving transforms your life ; it activates supernatural favor and it activates your blessings!
Giving activates blessings in devine abundance!
Give because God has done so much to you!
Galatians 6:7-9 states that whatsoever a man sows; he should also reap! In due season you will reap if you faint not!
Let us not grow weary in well doing. If you sow sparingly, you’ll reap sparingly! If you sow abundantly; you will reap in abundance.
People who build their lives on anything else other than God’s word set themselves up for a disaster.
Hosea 8:7a
The Israelites sowed a wind and reaped a whirlwind. The wind was emptiness and reaped the harvest of destruction. Every time they turned their backs on God, they reaped destruction.
Matthew 7:27-28 warns us of building a life on anything else less than God’s word.
Where is your heart? What kind of seed are you sowing? You reap what you sow! Give as your heart purposes.
