SUNDAY MORNING TIDBITS – 02/01/26 Pastor Richelle “Chelle” Melvin

Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11

Topic: “Purpose!”

The world would say that purpose is something discovered by looking deep inside of oneself and by following your passions and chasing your dreams.

Real purpose and transforming purpose can only be found in Jesus Christ.

Many of us do not understand our purpose. What are you here for? We are made to find purpose in our creator.

Romans 11:36

Everything comes from God and exists through God including your life is for God.

God designed us to who he wants us to be.  Too many times, we allow the world to design our purpose.  We allow outside influences and use this as a gauge as to where we are going to be in life.

What are you good at?

If you believe God created you for something great, you should be consulting your creator on what you are created for.

Ephesians 2:10

You are God’s Poetry! You are a masterpiece. You were created in Jesus Christ.  Before you knew who you were; God has already called you to be. Just be who God called you to be.

How do you know your purpose?

Three ways Jesus reveals your purpose and what you are made for.

1.        Have a relationship with Him. John 15:7

Connect with Jesus, spend time with Him in His presence and let his word dwell in you.  When you abide in him, your fruit shows God’s will for your life. Cultivate your relationship with God!

2.        God has given you gifts:  I Peter 4:10

God did not give you gifts and talents by accident.  Be who God made you to Be! Your gifts will make room for you. Your gifts are for you to serve and not be served!

3.        Pay attention to the needs around you. Matthew 20:28

It is a privilege to serve the underserved. Do not forget that at any moment, you can be just int that same place as the underserved.

Find your purpose! It will not be a burden to do anything when you know your purpose and walk in God’s calling for your life.

If you are not walking and not focusing on God and His purpose, then you are failing yourself, the ministry and the kingdom.

Everyone must do his or her part in the ministry! You can only be who God has called you to be. There is a place for everyone to serve.

When you do your part, it sets you free from comparison, It sets you free from fear and it sets you free from failure.

Even though you may stumble, your purpose is still the same! Get back up and try again.

Philippians 1:6

God will finish what he starts. It started at birth and you can run but you will be who he called you to be.

God has not forgotten about you, and He has a plan of a future and a hope! It will not be a plan to harm you.

We weren’t made to just survive; but to walk in good works for God has prepared it beforehand. You were made to stand on His word! You were made to hold on to the vine! You are kings and queens!

What God says it is what it is! End of the Story and nothing else to be said. Tell Satan that you are a liar and you cannot have my mind!

Will you surrender to God’s purpose and say Lord, not my will but yours!  Will you let go and let God? Your destiny is calling!

God has done a work in you that will be completed.

We are children of the most high God created with purpose and designed with intentions and calling to his glory. Glorify God in knowing that you have a purpose.

If you are struggling with your purpose and who God called you to be, grab hold to the vine from which your help comes. Look for ways to bless God and bring Him into every atmosphere.

Small movements can make a big impact. A single pebble in the water makes a ripple effect throughout the lake.

Know your purpose and find your purpose in him!
