SCRIPTURE: Matthew 25:14-30
TOPIC: “UNDERSTANDING WEALTH!”
Last week we looked at wealth from the perspective of the world; but we sometimes forget that we are different. We as children of God we must look at wealth at a different prospective.
Wealth should not be tied to your bank accounts, our jobs, property, etc. All these things are temporary. Your wealth should be tied to our spiritual riches.
Your concern should be what we are depositing in our heavenly bank account so that when the time comes God will look at you and say well done thy good and faithful servant. Understand that this is not our eternal home. We are sojourners in this world.
You can have it all today, and tomorrow it is all gone. The more money you acquire, the less that you depend on God to supply your needs. Yes, you need money, but should you not depend on God?
No matter how much you give, you cannot out give God. Whatever you have you should give to those in need as well as give to your ministry.
God will give you wisdom and guidance. You must be in Christ and be in Him for spiritual guidance. When you are in Christ, seek Him first in whatever you do in life, not just life but also with your money.
True wealth is allowing God to lead you on how to spend your money. When you do that, you do not have to worry. You must depend on God to help utilize your finances just as you depend on Him for everything else.
Too many times, people are arguing about the wrong things, but we need to focus on talking to God and allowing Him to lead you where you need to be.
Parable of Talents: Matthew 25:14-30
Verse 15 tells of the master leaving to go on a journey and he leaves money we leave the money to servants to maintain his property until he gets back. Their jobs were to maintain and grow what he had already developed until he returned.
God gave you each a command to continue go through with his task in the kingdom of God!
Everyone has been given a specific task to do in the House of God. He gave each what he/she can maintain and manage. It may not be on the same level as everyone else.
Every point in your life wherever you are; you are there for a reason.
God will put no more on you than you can bear.
The servant with the five talents and the servant with the two talents got the same results. By working what was given to them and what they had in their hands. He praises them by saying well done my good and faithful servant.
Take what you have in your hand and multiply it. You are more than what you think you are right now.
Be faithful in serving in what God has given you and He will be faithful in growing you. You must work with what you have in your hand. What have God given you in your hand to do?
It is simple. God is not looking for anyone to be in fear and hide your talents, but for those who will invest in his talent and make it grow in His kingdom.
Vs. 24- The man with two talents did not invest because he was afraid. Invest in what you have so that you will see growth. Don’t be afraid to do what God has called you to do.
Don’t hide your talents, skills and gifts and do nothing in the house of God.
This causes you to struggle with your spiritual growth personally and in church. Are you putting in what God gave you to put into the Kingdom of God or your local church.
All you had to do was do something with it for the kingdom.
You will feel it spiritually, emotionally, and financially if you do nothing at all. God has called you! You are a part of the family of God, a part of royalty and a spiritual foundation. Royalty makes money not lose it. If you are struggling in your growth, seek God for the answers that you need.
There are too many lazy saints who are not doing what God expects of them and who are not using the talents that God has given them. It is time to do more and stop hiding behind what you choose not to do.
God has a blessing with your name on it and it is set up just for you, but you have to first step out of the boat and allow God to use you. When you allow Him to use you, you are helping to grow the church in edification and whatever else that is needed from what God has instilled in you to help in the ministry.
Don’t be like the one who was given the one talent and be too afraid to even put forth an effort. Don’t lose what God has already prepared for you. You have to put forth an effort and try.
It’s time to go to work saints. When you do, you will see more and be more. Ask God for forgiveness and make a re-commitment back to Him.
When you sit and think of all that God has done for you, you have no choice but to worship and praise HIM!
God has put so many things in you. Don’t be afraid to walk in your calling and don’t think that your talent is less important in the Kingdom or to God than anyone one else’s.
The most important people are those who work in the background. You don’t have to be in the front or in the pulpits. Just do your part. Every ministry needs help.
The ministry works triple time because of not being able to rely on the person with the talent to do his part.
At the end of the day, God should be in the forefront of your finances all day anyways. God will speak to you what to do and how to do it.
You can’t talk about how money you have in the bank when you can’t be a good steward with what God has already given you.
God told the Israelites not to take anything into the next day because He would provide for them manna from heaven. Gods got you if you walk in obedience and do what He tells you to do!
Be faithful to your call and you will see how God will bless you. He will give you the increase.
Listen to God! Focus on Him!
When you do this, you will see more faith in God! You will see and have more trust in God!
Take your one talent and work it and accomplish even more.
Thank God for all that He does. He will give you courage on how to move, how to talk and how to do what you need to do for Kingdom building.
